You have to wonder what this raccoon was trying to achieve. The Harrison Township Fire Department in Michigan says a crew responded to a report of a raccoon’s head poking up through a hole in a sewer cover at an intersection recently. The firefighters attempted to use soap to lubricate the hole, but were unsuccessful. They eventually used cooking oil, which provided enough lubrication to free the animal. The raccoon was determined to be uninjured and was released.
