DOG RESCUED FROM FLOATING ICE ON DETROIT RIVER

Michigan police and firefighters responded to the Detroit River to rescue a dog that was stranded on a floating piece of ice. The dog, named Lucy, had escaped from her owners' home, and they'd called police soon after. Lucy was stranded on a piece of ice two feet from shore, so a rescuer in specialist gear went partially into the water on a ladder to reach her with a catch pole. Thankfully, Lucy was unharmed and healthy, and she was reunited with her owner
